Vanishing Elephant S/S12

I'm captivated. Incase you were unaware, it's print and patterns. I'd put myself in serious harm's way for the array of shirts offered by Vanishing Elephants S/S12 collection. Depending on when this collection can be purchased online, I will be treating myself at least one item.

Not only have Vanishing Elephant boarded, if not hijacked command of, the patterns bandwagon they've also given they're take on the pocket-tee and patchwork. They've also given us a unique pair of chino's, which feature a fair many elephants, it seems like they could be paired with almost anything else in the collection as well.

Deer Tick - Miss K

If you're a Deer Tick fan, which, after the bands 7 year, 3 album lifespan, there are quite a lot of, then you'll be happy to know a fourth LP will be released later on in the year. Divine Providence will be released on October 25. As many bands do, they've given us the tracklist (after the jump) and a teaser. The teaser is the albums closer, titled "Miss K".

Balam Acab - Motion

The anticipated Balam Acab debut LP, Wander/Wonder, is coming close. Over the past months we were given a set of intriguing teaser clips, and two singles "Apart" and "Oh, Why". With less than a month to go another release has been granted.

Wander/Wonder will be available, from Tri Angle, August 29.

David Lynch - Good Day Today

Alright, it's closing in so I've decided to relent. I've been putting off posting about David Lynch's, yes that's the David Lynch's, album. I wouldn't be surprised if many of you were already wise to the word. For those of you who are not, here's the deal:

David Lynch the famed, celebrated, acclaimed, however you want to spin it, film maker/director/writer has decided to kick off a career in electronic music. Several months ago he previewed "Good Day Today" on some radio station and one thing lead to another, now it's on the internet.
Here's my point of view. It's not that good. Sure wish he'd make another film though.

The album, Crazy Clown Time, will be available from November 8.

Tracklist after the jump.

Nerves Junior - Kale

As you might remember, a few months back we posted Nerves Junior's debut track, we called the track imaginative and unique. Following in the same vein Nerves Junior have released "Kale".

Kale shares the same ingenuity of drum beat as the previous release, yet is shades darker. The lyrics are, for the most part, either very close to undecipherable or irrelevant to the emotion beneath them. This lyrical irrelevance leads you towards a forlorn, astray feeling. It's as if the singer is lost in depression to the point of calm, dejected lunacy. This melancholic emotion is echoed by the electronic reverb and gloomy synthesisers. The synthesisers only break at the end of the track, when you are taken into a climax of reverb and guitar melodics.

Nerves Junior will release their debut LP, As Bright As Your Night Light, on September 6.

Library Voices - Generation Handclap

Infectious pop is easily the best and most generic way to describe Library Voices. The brain invading popsters will continue their take over of your mind later this month with the release of their sophomore album “Summer of Lust”. What have we got so far from the album? Well, we’ve got the artwork (below), we’ve got the tracklist (below) and now we’ve got the first single from the album “Generation Handclap”.
I’m not entirely sure what is being got at in Generation Handclap. It’s almost like pessimism wrapped up in bubblegum and a dying sunset. The best and most fitting lyrics of Generation Handclap come in the last verse. The finishing line is “They say you are what you read / Well you can be Coupland, I’ll be Murakami”, referring to the novelists (Douglas Coupland and Haruki Murakami).
I had a list of components of the song written down, to which I was going to attribute the success of the song to. On my nth listen however, I decided that it was the horns instead. The seaworthy guitar riffings don’t hurt and neither do the vocal refrains that come at just the right moments, but I’m going to say it’s the horns.

The Hidden Words - Dis

I know very little about 'The Hidden Words', so little that I am going to find it hard to write about them. Here's what I do know, or what I think I know, their debut LP, on which 'Dis', will feature is going to be released sometime over the upcoming months. The LP titled "Free Thyself from the Fetters of this World", is a blatant reference to  Bahá'í faith, as is the bands title itself. I wouldn't be surprised if their lyrics matched up to the same religious praise.

Musically, 'Dis' is quite simple. No frills, an acoustic guitar and minimal percussion are all that sit behind the beautiful vocals. The lyrics are french, and such I cannot understand them. Yet, I needn't nor want to understand them, the track would probably lose the quality that is, for songs whose lyrics are English, unattainable.
